Who we are
At Rose Cottage Leather, every piece is made by hand by me, Andrew, in Malvern, England. The workshop is cozy and the approach is simple, with each stage of the work carried out by hand. Cutting, stitching and finishing are all done using traditional methods that value care and patience.
I work exclusively with vegetable tanned leather, chosen for its natural finish, durability and the way it ages with use. For belts and pieces where strength is important, I use Old English Bridle leather, which is known for its firmness, resilience and refined surface. For wallets, accessories and most other goods, I use high quality vegetable tanned shoulder. This leather has a rich, natural character with plenty of depth and individuality, meaning no two pieces are exactly the same.
My journey began with a simple interest in making small leather goods, learning as I went with a few tools and a lot of trial and error. As my skills developed, I went on to undertake training in Walsall, long associated with English leatherwork, and later spent time learning from master craftsmen in the UK. These experiences shaped my understanding of the craft and strengthened my commitment to traditional techniques.
Rose Cottage Leather reflects that journey. It is the result of steady practice, quality materials and an appreciation for making things properly.
