Minimalist Cardholder - Hand stitched
Built for a lifetime.
Every single element of this piece has been crafted by hand by me (Andrew) in Rose Cottage; from the first cut of the hide to the final burnished edge. This isn't just a place to keep your cards; it’s a piece of traditional British craftsmanship that will likely outlive the trousers you carry it in.
The Process
Hand-Cut: I select the strongest sections of the hide, ensuring the grain is perfect for longevity.
Hand-Stitched: Using the traditional saddle-stitch method. Unlike a machine-sewn lockstitch, a hand-sewn saddle stitch will not unravel even if a thread is eventually broken. It is the gold standard of leatherwork.
Hand-Finished: The edges are meticulously sanded and burnished to a smooth finish, protecting the leather and feeling great in the hand.
The Leather: Vegetable Tanned
I use premium vegetable-tanned leather, a natural process using plant-based tannins rather than harsh chemicals.
The Patina: This leather is "alive." Over time, it will absorb the oils from your hands and the friction of your pocket, developing a rich, darkened glow (patina) unique to your journey.
The Scent: There is no mistaking the rich, earthy aroma of genuine veg-tan leather.
Dimensions & Fit
Designed to disappear into your front pocket while holding your essentials securely.
Width: 115mm
Height: 70mm
Depth: A slim 7mm (unloaded)
A Note on Character: Because I work with full-grain, natural hides, your wallet may feature subtle "story marks"—tiny scars, growth lines, or variations in grain. These aren't flaws; they are the fingerprint of the animal and a guarantee that you are holding a natural, high-quality product rather than a corrected, plastic-coated alternative.
